One of my New Years “Fasholutions” was to “dress to impress at all times”. The idea of slipping into something chic (and probably quite uncomfortable) at 7am on a rainy monday morning is never overly appealing, and the fact that I’ve been “working from home” for the past few months makes slinging on a pair of well-worn jeans and one of my boyfriends oversized sweaters extremely tempting. But, so far I have resisted my slobbier urges and gone for style over comfort (almost) every day. There really is nothing like working for a stylist (especially one who happens to own 12 Chanel handbags and enough pairs of Louboutins to put Imelda Marcos to shame) to make you up your fashion game.

As we are currently gearing up for the Haute Magazine Cover shoot, this week has been a pretty manic one. After a morning of frantic emails, international phonecalls and unforseen organisational dilemma’s, I was off to East London to pick up some samples from the Shoreditch HQ of PR giant, RelativeMO. I have always been in two minds about East London. Part of me wants to hate it for being so painfully trendy and self-satisfied. But at the same time, it (and it’s residents) are just about cool enough to get away with knowing it and I’m intrigued to explore an area of the city other than my usual West London stomping grounds.

On Thursday I accompanied Iman on my very first “pull” to select a few vintage pieces for our cover star to wear on the Haute Muse shoot next weekend. The celebrity in question is not only one of THE chicest and most ridiculously beautiful women in the world, she is also a huge personal style icon of mine so as we headed over to designer emporium, One Vintage on Thursday afternoon I was in a state of total over-excitement. One Vintage has to be one of the most incredible treasure-troves of sartorial delights that I have ever visited. Jessica and Marcelle, the women behind this must-have brand, basically take beautiful vintage pieces and re-make them to meet the needs of the modern fashionista. Whether you check out their pieces on Net-a-Porter, or make an appointment at their gorgeous South Kensington store, if ever you find yourself inundated with disposable cash and in need of a show-stopping ensemble, then definitely make One Vintage your first port of call.

By Friday morning most of the samples for the shoot had successfully arrived so my task for the day was to unpack, document and sort through all the many bags of carefully wrapped clothes and accessories. The process of “documenting” every single item sounds dull as hell, and in all honesty the idea of spending an entire day making a lengthy spreadsheet doesn’t exactly get my pulse racing. However, when you take into account the fact that said items included new season creations by Erdem, Diane Von Fustenberg, Celine, Stella McCartney and too many other fashion genius’s to mention, the “documenting” process doesn’t sound too tedious after all.
Without a doubt, the most satisfying thing about being employed is that come Friday evening, you really feel as though you’ve earnt that extra large glass of Pinot Grigio. After a week of work, spending a whole morning lolling on the sofa watching 90210 is necessary recouperation, rather than plain old laziness. With a mere 6 days to go until the shoot things are only going to get busier so I’m going to indulge in an afternoon of grooming, coffee drinking and strolling in Holland Park with my boyfriend in preparation for the hecticness of the week ahead.
Love Ella. X

Ella, that job sounds amazing! I'm so jealous
You look gorgeous and adorable in all of these outfits. I love that first top with the eyelashes, but my chest is so big it'd look like my boobs were flirting with everyone! You have such a perfect, petite body for things like that
The second outfit is my favorite! Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Sounds like an exhausting, but fabulous week!
Congratulations on the job! I love the outfits, especially the Dahlia dress and stripy top. It sounds you enjoy lazy weekends after a hectic week at work.
