As you may have spotted, my latest project saw Menswear Style and I joining forces with Belstaff to style and shoot their AW13 collection (see the snaps here). The reason behind this – besides the fact that the clothes are fab and posing in them was fun – is because the British heritage brand have just launched their biggest, baddest store yet on London’s very own Bond Street. Those of you unfortunate souls who follow my no doubt irritating Instagram feed or go anywhere near social media in general will know that Belstaff celebrated their store opening with, what else, a HUGE party! I arrived to find half of Bond Street shut off and hundreds of paps, security guards and celeb spotters lining the pavement. Once inside things reached even dizzier heights of awesome with Anna Wintour and, as I soon learned, the face of their latest campaign, David Beckham in attendance. But while the bash was a hell of a lot of fun, I didn’t get that much of a chance to check out the shop itself thanks to the fabulous fashion folk lining every inch of floor space. So this week I dragged my fashion week fatigued limbs back into town to check the place out properly.
Now I’ve seen many a stunning store in my time but Belstaff’s really is quite something. With marble pillars lining the central hall, vast wrought iron lights hanging from the ceiling, luxe lounging areas and luscious Belstaff leathers as far as the eye could see, the place really is impressive. Impossibly grand without verging on tacky and full of lovely stuff, I’d definitely recommend a visit next time you’re on Bond Street even if, like me, you couldn’t afford to take home so much as a handkerchief.
You can find the store at 135 New Bond Street, London, W1S 2SA.
Love Ella. X
