Burberry’s SS 2011 campaign… It’s most beautiful yet?

Maybe it’s because I’m British, maybe it’s just because I’ve got good taste… either way for as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with London-based Fashion House extraordinaire, Burberry. Nowadays it’s the mesmerizing catwalk collections by Burberry Prorsum that I’m lusting after, and maybe a classic trench coat or two, but this wasn’t always the case. I remember the day that, aged 11, my Godfather presented me with a REAL Burberry scarf. As an aspiring pre-teen fashionista (and, in those days, shameless brand obsessive), actually owning a bonafide item of Burberry was beyond exciting. I basically didn’t take that damn scarf off until a couple of years later when wearing the distinctive Burberry check became the epitome of bad taste, along with Louis Vuitton monograms and later followed by “it” bags.

Under the masterful direction of Christopher Bailey, Burberry has seriously upped it’s game these past few seasons. Military chic, pastel hues, aviator jackets, high-heeled hikers… Think of any of the big trends we have seen throughout 2010 and the chances are, they can be traced back to the runways at Burberry Prorsum. Of course it stands to reason that mesmerizing collections need to be done justice by equally stunning ad campaigns, and in this too Burberry has wowed us. Their previous campaigns have starred Brit icons such as Emma Watson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and for Spring/Summer 2011, Burberry have pulled out all the stops to bring us a set of images so divine it almosts hurts to look at them.

Ok, so these new images may be lacking the all-star cast of their predecessors but as always Mario Testino has worked his magic to create something truly beautiful to brighten up these grey January days and remind us that summer’s just around the corner… Well, give or take 6 months anyway.

    haha yes, I remember when everyone and anyone wore a Burberry scarf. If I could, I would wear Burberry Prorsum from head to toe everyday. Bailey never fails to amaze me with his take on edgy, but classic fashion.
