This will be my last Christmas related post I promise! I may have got a little carried away this year but seeing as I’ve covered every possible aspect of the build up to December 25th it would be silly not to write anything about the magical day itself. Actually make that the magical three days of eating, drinking and general merrymaking I’ve spent with my family in the idyllic Sussex countryside. Admittedly it would have been slightly more idyllic had it not rained intermittently throughout but hey, you can’t have everything.
Ever since I was a tantrum throwing toddler I’ve absolutely adored Christmas. Despite the inevitable stress, family arguements, extreme indigestion and occasional trips to A&E involved (aged 15 I had an unfortunate incident involving a bottle of homemade Damson gin that my parents have never quite forgiven) in casa Catliff, it’s always a real laugh. Like most years, we ate vast quantities of delicious food (my father’s an AMAZING cook), drank lots of champagne and went on several long, wet walks accompanied by dogs who wanted to stay inside watching Christmas specials even more than us. Unlike other years we also mixed things up by going ice skating and hosting a 19 man Boxing Day lunch. All in all it’s been a few delicious days of over-indulgence, trashy TV and extreme laziness… Isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
I hope you had a fabulously festive time too!
Love Ella. X
