Above: Atlanta de Cadenet wearing Jogg Jeans
Think urban, street vibes with a side of slouch and a whole lotta stretch in a myriad of different blue hues. It’s the kind of denim I could, and probably will, see Rhianna rocking with sky scraper ankle boots and a cropped wife beater, accessorised with a Jack Daniels on the rocks. One famous and fashionable female has already slipped into a pair. Model, DJ, daughter of Duran Duran bassist, John Taylor and general girl crush extraordinaire, Atlanta de Cadenet donned the collection just last week and I’ll think you’ll agree, the results are pretty awesome. On top of all this, Jogg Jeans also come with a worth-its-weight-times-ten-in-gold stamp of approval from none other than Nichola Formichetti. The recently appointed Artistic Director of Diesel (and, lest we forget, man behind Lady Gaga’s mind blowing style) is backing them by creating a campaign which sees him collaborating with a group of insanely awesome professional dancers to celebrate the new collection!
Ok, what I’ve told you so far could pretty much have been gathered from the Diesel website. This is where it gets interesting. As an avid wearer of clothes that should come with a health warning, Diesel decided I would be an ideal candidate to trial Jogg Jeans. This week I’ll be putting the jeans through their paces at, I kid you not, a “Diva Dance Class” (excited doesn’t even begin to cover it!) to really test their hybrid capabilities before seeing if they can work for slicker occasions by styling them with my own wardrobe. As this kind of denim is a little outside my usual pastels and prep remit, adapting my look to their badass brand of nonchalance will be an added challenge. So while I’ll be testing the jeans, they’ll also be testing me… Diesel, bring it on.
Love Ella. X
