Talk Pr’s CEO Jane Boardman treated us to a rousing speech and then it was time to get down to some serious mingling and of course, people watching. Forget about your usual spattering of celebs, Talk’s 10th anniversary party played host to some of the most influential figures in the industry. CEO of the British Fashion Council Caroline Rush, Elle Editor Jenny Dickenson, stylist Brix Smith-Start and Conde Nast publisher Stephen Quinn were just a few of the serious fashion power players in attendance.

I had been eyeing up a pretty blonde woman’s fabulous, polka dot suit all evening and wondering where on earth I recognised her from. When the woman in question complimented me on my outfit it suddenly dawned on me that she was in fact Jane Shepardson, CEO of Whistles! I’m not usually someone who’s left speechless by a famous face, but on this occasion I was utterly starstruck and babbled like an idiot about my “obsession” with her brand. The fact that I write about Jane and her work on such a regular basis left me feeling a tad stalker-ish when chatting to her in the flesh but that meeting was without a doubt the highlight of my evening, if not my life.
Gorgeous venue, stylish guests, delicious drinks and scintillating conversation. Talk Pr’s 10th anniversary party managed to be sophisticated and glamourous, yet strangely relaxed, alcohol fuelled and a whole lot of fun. God know’s how they’re going to top such an evening 10 years from now but I sure as hell want to see them try.
Love Ella. X
