Thought Thursday was the new Friday night? Well, think again. As far as the fash pack’s concerned, Tuesday’s where it’s at. The great and the good were out in force yesterday evening, party hopping around town as fast as their impractically shod feet could carry them. Due to the vile weather, I decided not to attempt attending more than one and focused my attentions on the soiree I thought would be the best… Luckily for me, my choice was bang on. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and there’s little doubt I’ll say it many more times in the future, Wolf and Badger seriously know how to throw a party! This week the cooler-than-cool, Notting Hill concept boutique opened it’s second store on, you guessed it, Dover Street. Given that this is a company who’ve been known to throw lavish bash purely because “it’s summer”, I wasn’t exactly surprised that they pulled out all the stops to toast their shiny, new shop. By the time we arrived, the place was heaving with familiar fashion faces and industry insiders, getting stuck in to mint julips and mingling to their heart’s content. In between ogling the shop’s AMAZING new brands we found time to dash down to the basement and throw a couple of shapes on the dancefloor.
Several hours and far too many cocktails later, Wolf and Badger shut up shop and we trooped up the street to continue the festivities at Le Baron. As it turned out, i-D magazine and Le Book had also both decided to host afterparties at the Mayfair nightspot so we all joined forces to drink, dance and make merry until dawn. I won’t go into details but let’s just say, my two hour lecture on “fashion and surrealism” was none too pleasant this afternoon.
Love Ella. X
