After a delicious, drunken and obscenely expensive supper at a lovely little restaurant in St Germain de Pres (full review coming soon) we stumbled the 5 minute walk back to our apartment for a vin blanc induced early night. Whilst conking out at 10pm on the first night of a holiday isn’t exactly wild, it was just as well because a wrong turn or two on our shopping spree the following day led us on a city wide walking tour of Paris. Evidently my memory of the Parisian streets isn’t quite as sharp as previously claimed. After what can only be described as un jour parfait we polished of yet another bottle of wine or three before donning our gladrags and venturing out into the balmy night. Our nocturnal adventure resulted in our dancing to French techno until the wee hours on the Bateau Concorde Atlantique, an incredible club/bar/boat on the Seine. Needless to say, we didn’t quite make it to any museums this morning.
