From what I’ve heard the snow’s not stopping anytime soon so this may be the first year in a long time we wont just be dreaming of a white Christmas! Whilst huddled over my laptop swathed in cashmere, desperately clutching a steaming hot latte I decided to investigate how one can possibly stay stylish whilst avoiding hypothermia. Thermal underwear and down-lined puffa coats may be cosy, but wearers run the inevitable risk of resembling the Michelin man, a look that even the likes of Gisele would struggle to pull off. Sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall are not exactly the norm here in Britain. No one expects to have to start shovelling their driveways as early as november, which probably explains why the second that snow started to fall the transport systems went into complete meltdown (yep, still bitter). However, it appears that one man was blessed with a unique foresight into the freakish weather conditions to come. He evidently knew something the rest of the world didn’t and thus prepared us for the sartorial difficulties that the next few months would bring with a catwalk collection fit for climbing Mount Everest. That man is none other than Karl Lagerfield. Fashion genius? Obviously… Prophet? Apparently so.
For Winter 2011 Chanel wowed us with an ice extravaganza featuring teddy bear fur, rubber soled leather boots, thick tweeds, and bulging knits. Anyone who mocked this yeti-tastic collection last february, certainly wont be laughing now.
Of course wherever uncle Karl goes, the rest of fashion world shortly follows resulting in designers and high-street stores alike bringing us faux fur, chunky knits and all manner of Artic gear. Despite the plummeting temperatures, there really is NO excuse to sacrifice style for warmth this season, so step away from the Ugg boots and check out this collection of delicious winter warmers instead…

I hope you enjoyed these winter treats, spending the afternoon browsing Net-A-Porter certainly got me out of my sulk anyway. Inevitably though, browsing led to splurging. I find it hard to believe that money spent shopping online is still real money, so if this snow situation continues for much longer it could very well bankrupt me.
Love Ella. X

You are so cute! Love your outfit…hard to believe money spent online is still real money…You aren't the only one that thinks that doll!
