I will get on with my London Fashion Week AW17 posts very, very soon mes amies I promise! In the meantime, here’s a Look Du Jour involving the latest addition to my footwear collection and inspired by what I saw on the catwalk.
As I definitely do not need to tell you, every season we are treated to a plethora of trends to suit all tastes. So far the AW17 shows have served up bold blooms, rich velvets, vintage furs and power palettes to name but a few. Heritage fabrics, 70’s references and a debonair “borrowed from the boys” air also cropped up everywhere from Tory Burch, Milly and Zadig & Voltaire in New York to Mulberry, Markus Lupfer and Eudon Choi in my hometown. With their low heeled, masculine swagger and retro snakeskin visage, these Finery boots would have been right at home in any of those shows. I’m obsessed with them, can you blame me?
Let’s talk more about my newly beloved boots, are they not a trans-seasonal dream! On point, on trend and weather appropriate from the tail end of AW16/17, through SS17 to AW17 and most likely beyond… Thank you Finery for concocting such perennially relevant beauties. Thanks are also due to Klarna who made the purchasing process so very simple. Fantastic though online shopping is, paying for a product that may well not fit (because, as we all know, sizes “vary” to say the damn least) and then having to send it back and wait who knows how long for a refund can be a bit off putting at times. I’ve definitely missed out on some amazing buys thanks to that very fear. Klarna is on a mission to solve that conundrum. Not only do they work with countless major retailers to make buying whatever sartorial delight finds its way into your basket a quick one click situation, Klarna also offers “pay after delivery” option meaning that you don’t have to shell out a penny until it’s arrived, tried and decided upon, genius! Obviously these babies weren’t going anywhere, so seconds after opening the box I got to styling them.
I decided to base the rest of my look around the same AW17 catwalk inspired aesthetic as the boots. Cue mustard cashmere, 70’s style suede and an oversized Dior Homme blazer that was quite literally borrowed from my boyfriend… Or at least, he thinks it was borrowed, I have other ideas.
What do you think of this Look Du Jour? And are you guys channelling any AW17 catwalk trends already?
Love Ella. X
