What: Charlotte Simone blue scarf & cap, Zoe Jordan sweater, Armani Exchange leather trousers, Ever US ring and Fendi bag
Where: Out and about in London
The title “December blues” may imply some sort of holiday season sadness. That’s a bit misleading. Even though London may be in a state of perma grey drizzliness (no bright and brisk morning frosts here!) I’m still thoroughly enjoying revelling in the opportunity to wrap up in knitwear and fluff, especially the fluff… ALL OF THE FLUFF.
Said fluff has had somewhat mixed responses. For the most part, it’s been all love. I mean, how could anyone not die over a fur pom pom cap and enormous periwinkle blue beast of a scarf so huge it basically engulfs your whole body? Or at least, that’s what I thought, and still very much think. Unfortunately that is not an opinion shared by everyone. Straight men in particular are not so keen on the pastel fluff fest and no one has a deeper loathing for this combo than my boyfriend… So naturally I wear it around him at every single given opportunity purely for personal amusement. It’s a one man in joke that never gets old.
As for the rest of the look? The sweater is one of Zoe Jordan’s trademark cut out knits and just about the comfiest thing I’ve work all season. There may be an argument that if it’s cold enough for knitwear it’s possibly too chilly for bad shoulders but to that I say PAH! Anyway, you could totally later a fine polo neck under it. The leather trews are a timeless pair you may remember from this edition of 3 Ways To Wear It, the bag a Fendi borrow and the peep toe booties French Connection favourites. Given that Christmas is basically upon us and the festive season in full swing, no ensemble would be complete without a bit of sparkle. This particular bling is called “Ever Us”, a product all about bestowing your nearest and dearest with jewels, something I’m wholeheartedly on board with… especially given the day of giving that is literally one week away now. The whole concept behind it is based on the idea that diamonds are not just “forever”, “a girl’s best friend” etc etc etc but that they’re something you can buy for your best friend, sister, mother or even maybe self to for whatever reason or for no reason at all. So, mes amies, go forth and Treat. Yo. Self… Or someone else, if you’re the generous type.
What do you think of this outfit? Fluff on fleek or a bit too big bird? And will you be buying your BFF diamonds this Christmas?
Love Ella. X
