Where: Shopping, lunching & other cultural activities in London… In other words, a perfect day.
This is the kind of look that would make Phoebe Philo run away screaming, should I have happened to bump into her in Hammersmith Starbucks (unlikely) last Thursday morning. It would be understandable, there is a hell of a lot going on here. But as someone with an irresistible attraction all things über girly, an outfit like this makes me want to hop, skip and jump for joy. Borderline offensive colour clashing? Check! Floral print? Check! Enough pink to give Barbie a headache? Check, check and check! Admittedly the Karen Walker Candy Bar sunglasses may have been overkill, better paired with slouchy skinny jeans and a grey marl tee, but I was so excited to take them for their first outing I couldn’t resist. I’ve had this Kate Spade dress in my wardrobe all Summer and despite spending at least five minutes per day looking lovingly at it, have never found quite the right occasion to actually wear it. With SS13 basically O-V-E-R I decided to take the plunge and felt every in the Park Avenue princess, it’ll definitely be coming with my to New York Fashion Week next month. Adding to the general joyousness of things was the fact I donned this eye popping ensemble for my favourite kind of day, lunching, shopping and catching a few, ok one, exhibition with my mum. Whenever we set off on this kind of outing it’s always with a plan to visit/achieve/buy an endless list of things but end up just wandering around chatting and coming home with one or two totally random purchases. That, my friends, is what makes it a perfect day.
Love Ella. X
