Mulberry Pre SS12 Preview

It’s official, I need to start saving. No more itsu lunch dates, thrice-daily Starbucks trips and casual glasses of champagne on a weekday evening. After spending Tuesday morning shamelessly ogling Mulberry’s divine pre SS12 offerings I decided that from now until November (when the collection hits stores) I’m going to live so frugally it would put Scrooge to shame. Thought a handbag couldn’t get any more “it” than the Alexa in watermelon? Well that, my friend, is where you’d be mistaken. Just when we thought Mulberry couldn’t possibly top its’ current array of must-have bags and fabulous frocks, the quintessential British brand just goes and does it again. Excited as I am over this season’s colour-pop brights and autumn’s spicy hues, they ain’t got nothing on the delectable homage to beach chic Mulberry will be serving up next Spring.

Deciding which of the many, MANY sartorial delicacies on display to feature in this post has taken me the best part of 3 hours (yes, really), but here you have my personal pick of Mulberry’s pre SS12 collection…

First and foremost I would like to introduce you to Harriet, the latest addition to the gorgeous and ever-expanding Mulberry family. Harriet comes in a ton of equally delectable styles including the oversized tote, the everday satchel, the petite shoulder bag and the party-perfect clutch wallet.

It looks as though my long-running obsession with the Alexa will continue into Spring and just when I thought my dream handbag couldn’t get any dreamier, the crafty folk at Mulberry went and conjured up a whole new range of skins and colours to tempt me with.

Another new addition to the Mulberry clan is the gorgeous and oh-so-practical Evalina bag. My favourite style has to be the slouchy hobo. Worked out on a cost-per-wear basis this not-so-little baby would pay for itself!

Whilst the Bayswater is without a doubt THE quintessential Mulberry bag, it’s SS12 makeover is anything but conservative. In eye-popping shades of hot pink and bright green this timeless classic looks set to top wish lists everywhere next Spring.

Before my handbag fetish runs away with me and I end up posting Mulberry’s entire pre SS12 collection, I’m going to exercise some self-restraint and move on to the clothes. I’ve always been seriously impressed with Mulberry’s ready-to-wear collections but this season (or rather, next season) they’ve truly outdone themselves. My personal favourite looks are…
