It’s no secret that I absolutely, completely and utterly ADORE Mulberry! From the must-have handbags to the super cute seasonal themes to their ingenious knack with social media, every aspect of this quintessential Brit brand is simply bloody brilliant. As for their stunning SS13 collection… There are almost no words. But you know me, I’m sure I can russle up a few:)
Having endlessly debated whether or not to post about press days, I decided just to report on those which a) were so spectacular it would be mean not to share and b) I actually managed to take a few decents snaps of. The latter point will probably limit my press day reportage to no more than three but luckily for you, I did get some good’uns at Mulberry. This was the second season I got to see the Mulberry catwalk show and it was definitely one of my fashion week highlights. Seeing Claridges Hotel transformed into a horticultural fairytale complete with candy coloured garden gnomes was obviously awesome but the most thrilling aspect of all was the fact that Emma Hill seemed to have designed the entire collection for me. Ok, maybe not, but with mint green hues, endless floral detailing, brocade and Peter Pan collars all on the table Mulberry’s latest offerings couldn’t have physically BEEN more up my street!
My obsession with the collection was only enhanced by getting the chance to see it up close the other week. In between indulging in tasty press day treats and avoiding the giant poodle (yes really) that seemed to take rather a shine to my leather skirt and insisted on shoving its nose up my crotch at every possible opportunity, I fell hard for the sweet Spring coats in lightweight tweed. On top of that there were feather-light chiffon shirtdresses with chic pleat detailing, honey-hued shifts, boucle skirt suits and statement leather jackets in playful gecko prints.
I came away with a new season wish list that no doubt totalled a year’s worth of rent and even being accosted by said poodle on my way out couldn’t shake me from my fashion reverie.
Love Ella. X
