Last summer I came oh-so-close to splashing out on an oversized Alexa in chestnut before being overwhelmed with a highly inconvenient sensibility and decided to spend the money on a new laptop instead. All winter I longed for an Alexa and after Father Christmas failed to deliver, almost threw caution to the wind after clapping eyes on the delicious watermelon hues the wiley temptresses at Mulberry introduced for SS11.

Somehow though, I managed to resist the allure of the Alexa and instead fuelled my handbag addiction with new season treats from Sandro and Whistles. But despite nearly a year of self-restraint, I think it is now well and truly time to admit defeat. A couple of weeks I was introduced to Mulberry’s Pre-Fall collection and the Alexa’s latest makeover is just too good to resist. In a particularly colour-pop-tastic shade of “bright cabbage” (that’s green to those who don’t know) these new season Alexa’s are so damn delectable I was hard pushed not to try and take a bite out of the nearest one.

Thankfully I managed to resist or would probably now be facing a lifetime ban from Mulberry’s Covent Garden store and that would frankly be a fate worse than death. The Tillie may be adorable and the Taylor brand spanking new, but Mulberry’s Alexa is still number one on my wish list. So screw the summer holiday, as far as I’m concerned this little beauty is a far wiser investment than a week in the Costa Del Sol will EVER be!

I almost bought Alexa oversized in Watermelon but I resisted to save my bank account. I might still buy one in a more classic color in the fall
so lovely!
