As a fully paid up member of the girly girls club, I’m a sucker for anything involving pastel shades or a pretty floral print. But as much as I adore all things frilled, flouncy and feminine, the spring collections are never lacking in that sort of thing so the understated elegance offered up by Burberry is really rather refreshing. I like to think of it as ‘utility luxe’. Simple separates in muted hues, relaxed tailoring in chic-yet-weather-resistant fabrics with the odd red carpet number thrown in. Yet again Bailey’s managed to fuse practicality with desirability in that inimitable way of his. One part country casuals, one part high fashion androgyny… all in all another winner from Burberry.
