At long last summer is drawing to a close and do you know what? I couldn’t be happier. After all, what are picnics in the park, beach holidays and outdoor drinking in comparison to the joy of discovering the sartorial treats on offer for the season to come? Back in March the very thought of neon brights, chiffon skirts and floral prints left me giddy with excitement but now… quite frankly they feel a tad passé. It’s got to the point where the very sight of gladiator sandals makes me want to scream and I find myself uncharacteristically ambivalent towards miserable weather as there’s nothing better for test driving ones autumn looks than an overcast afternoon. Yes, despite my initial obsession with all things bright, light and totally unsuitable for British weather regardless of the season I am now officially OVER summer and oh-so ready to embrace chunky knits, rich autumnal hues and all the other sartorial goodies on offer for the AW11. With Fashion Week just around the corner it is well and truly time to begin my favourite bi-annual activity, new season wardrobe planning. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve browsed the mags, cruised the shops and stared at Style.com until my eyes hurt so here are a few choice images from my favourite new season collections to get us all in the mood to shop, shop, SHOP!

I’m so in love with all of these collections I can’t decide which I most want to beg, borrow, steal or (more likely) reproduce high street style. Which look will you be channelling this season?
