What: Florals Top: Peter Pilotto, Leather Skirt: Urban Outfitters, Heels: Isabel Marant, Bambi Necklace: Anne Bowes Jewellery, Cocktail Rings: Swarovski, Bag: Topshop
Where: Jake Bugg live at Burberry, London.
The more I think about it, the more I love this particular look du jour. Not only am I still head-over-heels for my Peter Pilotto top but the title itself combines two of my all time favourite things! Having spent the past couple of weeks in a state of complete and utter panic over my fashion week wardrobe, the idea of rustling up another half decent ensemble for the Burberry bash on Thursday made me want to curl up in the foetal position… And then I decided to pull myself together and stop being so ridiculous, after all there are worse things than having to concoct a few outfits in which to guzzle champagne.

Where: Meetings & dinner with friends at Electric House in Notting Hill.
First and foremost, I did warn you that you would be seeing rather a lot of this hat over the coming weeks. I actually meant that I’d be wearing it non-stop during New York Fashion Week in a desperate attempt to avoid hypothermia but now temperatures here in London have gone and plummeted below freezing it seems silly not to utilise its furry warmth. As for the coat, it was an extreme impulse buy in the Sandro sale but frugality be damned, it was worth it. Last Monday I decided to take the Marylebone High Street route back from menswear shows, always a mistake when trying not to splurge because Sandro, Whistles, Theory and Matches are all in dangerously close proximity. I spotted this fur trimmed, camel wool stunner and it was love at first sight. Conveniently I’d received my Student Loan just that weekend which seemed like fate to me. One of my New Year’s Fasholutions was to spend more money on clothes and less on non-essential items like wine, itsu and Starbucks. Admittedly I haven’t stuck to the second part but I’m doing a damn good job of the first!

What: Fur Hat: Maje, Coat: Whistles, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jeans: Acne, Gloves: Dents, Boots: Dune (gifted)
Where: Meetings, errands and a trip to the library (boo).
I know this is the second time in 24 hours that this particular ultra cosy hat has featured but I’m just completely and utterly obsessed with it! Strictly speaking it wasn’t nearly chilly enough this week to warrent quite such hardcore head wear and I may have got a little bit sweaty prancing around London but I’d be damned if I was going to put it in my handbag and risk making the fur go all frizzy. I’m off to New York Fashion Week again in Feburary (yay!) and am horribly aware it’s going to be FREEZING so when I spotted this bad boy in Maje it went straight to the top of my Christmas list. Excessively large fur hat aside, I have no idea how I’m going to avoid getting hypothermia without completely sacrificing all semblance of style. If anyone has any tips for managing it (brandy? candy? both?) please do share them with me!

What: Deer Jumper: Boutique by Jaeger, Skirt: American Apparel, Bag: Mulberry, Bambi Necklace: Anne Bowes Jewellery (click here to buy), Beret & Ring: Accessorize, Boots: Massimo Dutti.
Where: Coffee and shopping.
Giving (and getting) clothes as presents is fairly high risk. Generally speaking I’m a big advocate of opting for vouchers or better still cash rather than actual garments. Clothes shopping is such a personal thing, so much comes down to size and fit both of which can vary enormously from brand to brand. It’s also, in my opinion, one of THE most enjoyable activites known to man so with a generous cheque or Selfridges store card you’re really giving your loved one the gift of a fabulous time. That said, now and again buying clothes for other people can be a success. When this magical collision of good luck and good taste occurs few things beat the joy of taking the togs you unwrapped on Christmas morning out for their first wintery spin. This adorable Boutique by Jaeger Deer jumper and Accessorize Fair Isle beret were two of my fave gifts this year. They’re exactly the kind of things I’d buy for myself and on several occasions this season, nearly did!
Did you get any clothes for Christmas? If so, will you be wearing them or putting them on ebay before New Year?
UPDATE: I stupidly didn’t read the “handwash only” lavel and put my deer jumper in the washing machine. Half the face came off, I’m so sad!

What: Dress: Alice by Temperley, Shoes: Isabel Marant, Clutch: BoBelle London, Rings: Swarovski (gifted), Necklace: Anne Bowes Jewellery.
Where: Temperley London Store Launch Party.
Technically speaking this isn’t a “festive frock”. I think it’s actually Pre Fall 2012 so by fashion standards that’s really more of a mid-to-late Summer ensemble. But personally I think the print oozes Christmas opulence so just work with me on this one. Besides producing a seemingly neverendless stream of divine dresses, the folk at Temperley London seriously know how to throw a party. I wore this to the launch bash for their incredible new Bruton Street Store… And what an evening it was! More on that coming your way soon.

Ps) After much deliberation I got a fringe! I can’t quite decide whether or not I like it though. What’s your verdict?
