We may have been to Sketch, Buddha Bar and one or two (or three) other establishments in between, but last week’s party line up was far from over at 9pm last Thursday. Our final after dark destination was none other than Burberry’s spectacular Regent’s Street flagship where they had decided to hold an invite-only Jake Bugg gig. Few brands throw a fash bash quite like Burberry and their latest knees-up was no exception. A-list guest list, endless amounts of (really good) champagne and one of the hottest new music acts around playing live… I mean, what more could you want from an evening!?
Amber Le Bon, Becky Tong and Zara Martin also made the journey there from the ZEO ‘do, making me feel a little better about my own incessant party-hopping. Other “OMG” attendees included actors Bonnie Wright and Jack Whitehall plus Cara Delevigne and the ever-wonderful Christopher Bailey. After having a good, old fashioned boogie to Jake Bugg’s set I dragged the bf (who had a baptism of fire into the London fashion circuit last week, poor thing) off for a tour of the AMAZING interactive store during which, much to my delight, he declared his desire to own a bit of Burberry himself! Even more delightful was the fact that the SS13 collection had arrived so I got to spend an extremely happy half hour ogling those fabulous metallic trench coats. There’s not that much more to say about this particular soiree except that, like every other Burberry bash I’ve attended, it was a lot of fun and vast amounts of champagne were consumed. Just check out the video of Jake Bugg performing…
When the news of this particular fash bash arrived in my inbox, my initial response was one of confusion. British heritage brand, Mulberry, hosting the wildest party at a legendary LA music festival, seriously? After reading a few lines on all that was cloudy became crystal clear and any remaining confusion was replaced by extreme jealousy. After all, this sounds like it might just have been THE event of the century… Or at least the year so far. After a day spent sunning themselves at Coachella festival (lucky for some) a handpicked selection of guests were picked up in Mulberry’s monster-themed coach and transported to the ultra swanky Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. From there they made their way into a private garden which had also had a monster makeover, in homage to the brand’s AW12 collection. So far, so fabulous but the evening was about to get that bit better as Kasabian took to the stage for a midnight acoustic set.
The Fire pit
Mulberry has a reputation for attracting an A-list following (did you see their FROW this season?) and Friday night’s guest list was certainly no different. Kate Bosworth, Lily Collins and Azealia Banks were all in attendance and Brit beauties Cara Delevigne and Tali Lennox flew 10 hours to be there.
So as you now see, my major case of envy was pretty well founded especially seeing as (according to my sources) those lucky so-and-so’s all went home with their own little Mulberry…
What is it about Burberry ad campaigns… they’re always so goddamn gorgeous! It’s probably something to do with the super hot model/would-kill-for-that clothing/Mario Testino combination… I mean, if there were ever a recipe for a stella shot that’s it. Just when I thought my Eddie Redmayne obsession couldn’t get any, well, sadder, Christopher Bailey goes and books him and Cara for yet another gorgeous set of snaps. To be honest I’m not sure which I’m more in love with, Eddie or his shades…
Ok, Cara Delevigne is officially the luckiest girl in the world. Not only is she blessed with sickeningly good looks, world’s longest legs and a wardrobe bursting with Burberry, Cara also got to spend an afternoon canoodling (or at least, pretending to canoodle) with the gorgeous Eddie Redmayne. Having watched My Week With Marilyn almost purely for perving purposes (it’s also a really good film btw) I was beyond jealous when I saw these snaps. Partially for obvious Eddie-related reasons but most of all because I NEED that parka in my life!
As we all know only too well, Fashion is a fast paced and fickle friend. The second you finally nail your “look” for the current season, it’s suddenly time to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing in a few months time and if you’re really savvy, working a few of those next season pieces into your wardrobe right now. Some might say the fact that the Spring/Summer pre-collections arrive in stores before we’ve even decorated our Christmas trees is a little ridiculous but personally, I think it’s fab. London can be pretty dismal in December so what better way to escape the gloom than by ogling a few rainbow brights? Spring can also be pretty grey here in Blighty so thank GOD we have the option of wrapping up in cosy Pre-fall collection long before the first leaves start to fall. Even I’ll admit that thinking about Pre-AW12 now could be deemed a little excessive (that’s nearly 10 months away after all) but when the autumnal fare on offer is quite as delicious as these Burberry beauties, it would be a crime not to share it. Just check out these shots by Mario Testino of the sickeningly gorgeous Cara Delevigne working Burberry’s luxurious pre-fall looks…
