Wearing…
Top and Skirt by Iris & Ink, Clutch by Valentino, Cuff by Kenneth Jay Lane & Shoes by Charlotte Olympia all available at THE OUTNET

Well, it’s certainly been a busy week. Parties, shoots, a cameo in the Evening Standard, attempted thesis sessions in the library (less fun) and now another exceedingly exciting project to share with you all… YAY! It always surprised people to hear that I rarely shop online. Or at least, it always used to surprise people to hear that because I am proud to announce that I am now an e-tail convert. This changing of tune is in part due to the fact I’ve developed an eagle eye for what will suit my shape and currently have no free time to hit Regents Street but I must admit, it’s equally thanks to THE OUTNET. After all, where else could you find never worn Phillip Lim runway looks at 65% off their original price? Charlotte Olympia shoes that won’t leave you living off beans? And let’s not forget their own fabulous brand, Iris & Ink. I’ve been perusing and purchasing (although not as much as I’d like) THE OUTNET obsessively of late and was delighted when they asked if I fancied taking part in their Blogger Style Series. Selecting the looks posed something of a challenge because, as anyone who frequents the site will know, there is so much covetable stuff. In the end I settled for this chic lace two piece in my favourite shade of emerald green. As you know, I have a major weakness for colour-pop combinations so couldn’t resist teaming it with ruby red accessories. The shoes, the clutch… The whole goddamn look! If I could dress like this everyday I so would.

Lovely Bubbly by Charlotte Olympia & Veuve Clicquot

Charlotte Olympia Veuve Clicquot

If ever there were a match made in pampered Princess heaven, Charlotte Olympia and Veuve Clicquot would be it. The fusion of delectable champagne and adorable accessories, seriously, what could possibly be better?! Well, this year that dreamiest of collaborations has become a reality as the legendary French Champagne house have enlisted Charlotte to design a capsule collection in celebration of the annual high society, polo extravaganza that is the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup… Like I said, dreamy.

Last Wednesday afternoon I braved the rain (with bare legs, idiot) and headed across town to The Connaught Hotel in Mayfair where, in fittingly luxurious style, the aptly named “lovely bubbly” collection was being showcased to press. After getting increasingly lost and frustrated wandering through the grand corridors, I had just about made up my mind to admit defeat and seek solace in Starbucks when I finally found my way to The Carlos Room… Boy, am I glad I did.

The opulent room was dimly lit, decorated with bottles of Veuve, flickering candles and decked out for champagne tea. But I have to say that even this most deliciously decadent of settings had nothing on the collection itself. Inspired by Veuve Clicquot’s iconic Yellow Label and Rosé Cuvée Champagnes, the palette was a mouthwatering blend of golden yellows and soft blush pinks displayed in glass cases alongside bottles of the bubbly itself. Charlotte’s signature Kitty flats and Miranda wedges re-imagined in orange suede and cork provide polo goers with field friendly (well, ish) options while sparkling platforms adorned with gold embroidery and black satin sandals with champagne flute heels simply scream “après soirée”.

Besides shoes, Charlotte’s “Lovely Bubbly” designs include four fabulous clutches, my personal favourite being “Cheers”, a black matchbox style featuring the shimmering silhouette of a red lipped woman drinking champagne. That said, the powder pink “Bouzy Pandora” comes a close second.

As you’ve no doubt gathered, I fell rather in love with this collection. I always adore Charlotte Olympia’s irreverent, playful aesthetic and combined with a heady dose of Veuve Clicquot, it’s virtually impossible to resist.

Love Ella. X

Ps) In case you might actually buy one of the pieces then a) I’m very jealous and b) the collection will be available from July 1st at Charlotte Olympia’s own boutiques and exclusively in Harrods.

Weekly Wish List: Whistles Party Dresses

As you’ve probably gathered from the title, this week’s wish list is ALL about dresses. Namely party dresses from the fountain of all things covetable that is Whistles. When I first started blogging, I had absolutely no idea about anything. PR companies, press days, fashion week ticket requests, media groups, html code, affiliate networks, servers, social media… You name it, I was clueless. Aside from documenting my outfits and Parisian adventures, I really just starting writing about stuff I liked. Naturally a lot of that “stuff” came from Whistles so I was unbelievably delighted when the brand began to respond to my incessant posts and tweets. Three years things are a little different and I like to think I’m not quite such a novice. As my understanding of how the fashion biz works has grown, my already bordering on unhealthy obsession with Whistles has too. Their latest array of evening ensembles is  just so goddamn gorgeous I decided it deserved it’s own wish list. One thing I’ve always particularly loved about Whistles is the fact that the collections cater to a huge range of personal styles and ages. I thought their SS13 dresses illustrated this point very well, so here we have four frocks styled to suit four different tastes…
