BLK DNM teams up with Vogue Paris

Vogue Paris

A couple of weeks ago I promised myself that I would stop posting news-y type pieces on the premis that people would be unlikely to look here for hot-off-the-press fashion gossip rather than just heading straight to Style.com… Then I received the news of this fash-tastic collaboration between BLK DNM and Vogue Paris so, like my many other ill-fated resolutions before it, the vow went straight out of the window. But when one of the hottest brands around teams up with the ultimate fashion bible, wouldn’t it just be rude not to share?

Vogue Paris Celebrates 1 Million Twitter Followers!

Vogue Paris

Admitting this is going to sounds really, really sad but reaching 1000 followers on twitter made me almost ridiculously happy. Reaching 1 million? Well, I’d probably have to throw a party. Or launch a specially created micro site thanking all my fans and detailing my digital history… After all, that’s what Vogue Paris did.

Vogue Paris is pretty much the pinnacle of chicness so it comes as no surprise that over a million people follow them on twitter. But creating a website in celebration of their many adoring fans and online journey? That I didn’t anticipate. Not that I think it’s all catfights and Devil Wears Prada over at Vogue’s French HQ, a certain now infamous video of Emmanuelle Alt lip synching Wham! put paid to that. I’d just assume that those terrifyingly stylish Parisienne’s would be far too busy working, fashion show attending and generally being fabulous to even notice how many followers @VogueParis had on twitter, let alone create a micro site about it! Luckily for us that’s exactly what they decided to do and, unsurprisingly, the site is nothing short of exquisite. Incorporating everything from supermodels and couture shows to street style and the magazine’s more notable followers, “story of 1 million” is playful, informative and most importantly, lovely to look at. But don’t just take my word for it, check it out yourself at http://en.storyof1million.vogue.fr

AnOther Magazine teams up with Net-a-Porter

AnOther Magazine loves Net-a-Porter

So, AnOther Magazine has joined forces with Net-a-Porter… If that’s not a match made in fashion heaven then frankly, I don’t know what is! You may already be familiar with “AnOther Loves”, the magazine’s online emporium of must-have pieces handpicked by a network of industry insiders all over the world. Not so different from my own “LPA Loves” section… albeit on a much MUCH bigger scale.

Covetable clothes and awesome accessories beautifully displayed and accessible from your smartphone, sounds like AnOther Loves couldn’t get but better right? Well apparently, it could! Not content with the level of sartorial temptation they were offering, the cooler-than-cool fash mag launched a very special collaboration with Net-a-Porter. What to expect? Lots and lots and lots of oh-my-god-I-want-it-now inducing products including an exclusive McQueen clutch. The fashion team at AnOther (who really know there stuff) will be personally selecting their favourite pieces out of the endless array of designer delights stocked at Net-a-Porter to share with all of us. So lock up your wallets and disable your WiFi, this ingenious coming together of two modern style pioneers has the power to bankrupt. In the interest of getting the project off to a suitably fash-tastic start, AnOther Magazine Publisher Jefferson Hack treated Net-a-Porter Founder and newly elected Chairman of the British Fashion Council Natalie Massinet to his own version of the Proust Questionnaire… So flipping fabulous, you just couldn’t make it up!

Read the interview here and make sure to check out AnOther Loves Net-a-Porter… If you dare.

Introducing Snap Fashion

Another quick fashion week sidebar coming up… This has been a pretty great month for digital devotees like myself. First off, we had Vogue launching their new and improved website. Next comes Snap Fashion, an app designed to eliminate wardrobe dilemmas. Ok, so it won’t make us immune to the possibility of making future fashion faux pas (I wish) but it will make finding the sartorial gems we covet that bit easier. How many times have you spied a pap shot of a celeb wearing something so lovely you want it for yourself? Often, fash mags will ientify said garment, providing us with designer, price and stockist details but, equally often, the astronomical cost of said sartorial gem puts it ever-so-slightly out of your reach. And what about the model in a random ad who’s so-chic-it-hurts sweater you’d do anything to own? Nowhere on that Virgin Atlantic poster you spotted in the tube station does it tell you where you can find said item. This, my friends, is where Snap Fashion comes is.

Snap Fashion

Snap Fashion is a sartorial search engine that uses images to search for matches, saving time, money, and eliminating the frustration of having to trawl for hours, days, even, shopping online. The process is a simple one: take out phone, launch the free Snap Fashion application, select the product type that you want to search, and then snap it. The item is then searched for on Snap Fashion’s extensive list of affiliates via cut, colour, and style, and the results are delivered straight back to you in tabs, and within seconds. Users can browse all, save favourites to buy later, or click through directly to the retailer’s website to buy it that very second!

Triumph Announced as Official LFW Lingerie Provider

Triumph

While I’ve been wrapped up in all things NYC, I almost forgot that my fellow fashion fanatics back home in Blighty are gearing up for London Fashion Week! No doubt stress levels are soaring and obscene amounts of coffee are being consumed in design studios and PR offices all over the city so I thought I’d take a little time out from the New York mayhem to share an announcement from home with you. Lingerie uber brand, Triumph has been announced as the OFFICIAL undie provider for LFW. Why is this exciting? Firstly because they make really, really nice pants. Secondly because pretty much any fashion week related news gets my pulse racing. Finally, and I feel most, importantly, because they are the first lingerie brand ever to do so since the event first took place back in 1984.
