The past week has been a particularly manic one, even by my usual standards but regardless of Monday’s over exertion at the Scottish Fashion Awards I was back in my gladrags last night and off to do the party rounds. Not that I’m complaining though as I got to spend the evening drinking, dancing and generally making merry with my nearest and dearest at the W Hotel where my pal, James Joseph through a fash-tastic bash in celebration of his incredible online mag, Stylenoir’s third birthday. On top of that he also teamed up with photographer Merry Phillips to create this stunning Stylenoir Magazine anniversary cover… Oh how I wish I had the skills to do something similar myself!

So as you already know, I spent yesterday evening in extremely stylish company at the Scottish Fashion Awards. Ps) big BIG thank you to Swarovski for being amazing hosts!
As anyone who follows me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook will have guessed, this morning I headed up to Glasgow for the Scottish Fashion Awards. As I sit here writing this in my beautiful hotel room I can’t help but feel that this whole experience has been pretty surreal so far. My day got off to a distinctly unglamourous start as I slept through my alarm and had to leg it to Hammersmith tube station in the pouring rain. Naturally I cheered up big time once I got to the airport as Heathrow Terminal 5 is hands down my favourite place to fly from – Starbucks, Itsu, Mulberry… Need I say more? – and once I boarded the plane, my levels of over excitement peaked. Apparently half the industry was on that flight and from my seat I could spy David Gandy, Brix Smith Start, Tali Lennox and most in the In Style team to name but a few. By this point, I hseriously regretted having not worn make up but it was so darned early when I left my flat I just couldn’t face it. Once we touched down in Glasgow my fellow awards attendees and I were herded, school trip style, through arrivals and to a fleet of waiting Mercedes which ferried us to the majestic Blythswood Hotel. Like I said, surreal, and it’s only got more so. After checking in, ordering room service and polishing off the welcome snacks I headed down to the Swarovski “style suite” to get my hair and makeup done and choose a few bits of bling to wear tonight. Given that I’ve got a couple of hours until we hit the red carpet I should probably try to do something productive but frankly, I’m going to spend it trying on my gorgeous outfit Holly Fulton ensemble and prancing around my room instead. Here are a few snaps from the glamourous goings on at Blytheswood Square Hotel so far…
I’ll be live tweeting from the awards and of course, the after party, so follow @Ella_LaPetite for all the juicy details.

Ok, so this particular snippet of news isn’t super strictly fashion related. But beautiful images and stiff drinks are two of my favourite things, so when I heard that The Macallan single malt whisky had enlisted legendary photographer, Annie Leibovitz to shoot their latest campaign how could I not blog about it!? Plus the added eye candy factor of Grey’s Anatomy star, Kevin Mckidd, makes these shots hard to resist.
Lounging by the fire in a Scottish castle, or scaling scaffolding surrounded by the New York skyline… Whichever shot floats your boat, I’m sure you’ll agree that The Macallan’s choice of leading man has gone a long way towards making whisky sexy.

Earlier this year I made a brief blogging-related trip to Madrid for a little collaboration with Hoss Intropia and Spanish blogzine, Fashion Salade. Now when I say brief, I really do mean it, as I went there and back in a day! This elicited a fair bit of mockery from family and friends about my supposedly “jet set” lifestyle but I assure you, easyjet at 5am ain’t glamorous. Once I arrived all early morning angst was forgotten and I got stuck into a day of dressing up. For the results of our shoot and a short (thank God) video interview with yours truly go to Fashion Salade, but here are a few snaps from the day…
