Here we have yet another early Spring purchase that had yet to have made it out of my wardrobe until now! I snapped up this little green number from Boutique by Jaeger waaay back in April and finally took it for it’s first outing it last Sunday. My mum was in town so we spent the day shopping in Westbourne Grove and lounging in Hyde Park before getting suitably tipsy over large amounts of seafood and Pinot Grigio at Carluccios that evening. Oh and let’s not forget watching the EPIC three hour Brit-a-thon that was the Olympic Closing ceremony. The Spice Girls, Take That and Prince Harry all on one screen?! It was frankly almost more than I could handle.

Weekly Wish List, New York Edition

August is just around the corner and we all know what that means… Fashion month is now just a few short weeks away! For a lot of industry folk, ‘fashion week’ can be something of a dirty word thanks to the sheer amount of stress it brings with it. Personally, I don’t think I’m ever going to get over the joy of being able to attend shows, parties and be a part of all the madness in between. Who knows, maybe in ten years time I’ll be bemoaning the sleep deprivation, high-heel induces injuries and champagne-induced hangovers that are as much a part of fashion week as the collections themselves but given how excited I feel just writing that, I doubt it. With just over a month to go, it’s high time to start planning our wardrobes. Another week, another wish list… I can’t help but feel that anyone who claims that happiness is not to be found in material things must have been shopping in the wrong places. Having spent most of the past week ogling the AW12 collections it feels a bit bizarre to come back to the current season. Still, given that we haven’t actually had Summer yet, I’m nowhere near “over” pastels, florals and broderie anglaise. With my student loan (AKA mid-season shopping fund) arriving any day now I’m currently torn between Jaeger’s lemon yellow sundress and DVF’s mini Harper bag… Which one would you pick?

After a two week hiatus La Petite weekly wish list is back with a vengeance. At the moment I can’t decide whether I prefer pastels or brights so have decided just to go for both of them. For the next few weeks I’d advise anyone with a penchant for minimalism (or a hangover) to avoid looking my way as I’ll be decked out head-to-toe in kaleidescopic hues. After all, there’s nothing like a shock of fuscia to herald the official arrival of *ahem* “British summer time”. On another note I, along with every other blogger, editor and journalist in town, have spent the week checking out what we’ll be wearing in six months time at the AW12 press days. Whilst I wont go into detail right now, anyone who has been following my tweets or tumbles will know that Peter pan collars are not only très a la mode for SS12 but they’ll be sticking around next season too, a fact you can imagine I’m extremely happy about.

La Petite Weekly Wish List 22/03/2012

Ok, I know I should really stop banging on about the weather so much but given that London’s been transformed into a Springtime paradise pretty much overnight, how could I not at least mention it? I mean, last week I even spotted a few people picnicking… picnicking! Personally, I think that Spring and Autumn are my favourite times of year.
