LPA Loves: Trans-seasonal Leather

Is it just me or is leather THE ultimate trans-seasonal fabric? Even in London it’s occasionally to sweaty to wear it in Summer and during the cold Winter months leather isn’t as insulating as one might think because it’s exceedingly difficult to layer. Despite my penchant for all things preppy and floral-related, I’m extremely partial to a bit of leather and the fact that it’s been a perma-trend for about six seasons now makes me very happy indeed. So far I’m the proud owner of a leather skirt, shorts, one leather collared top, a leather jacket and about a zillion leather handbags and pairs of boots. This season I’m hoping to branch out into tees, dresses and trousers, ideally in unusual colours! Here are a few of the pieces I’m eyeing up at the moment…

Christmas Wish List 2012

Ok, so I know I said that a BLK DNM leather jacket was all I wanted for Christmas but that was a lie. A big, fat unsurprising and (in my opinion) entirely understandable lie. I challenge anyone to cast their eyes on these sartorial delights without turning into a holiday brat…

Top Coats

The post actually comes courtesy of one lovely reader who took the time to send me a very nice email asking if I’d do a feature on my favourite Winter coats! FYI I don’t find this annoying as there are only so many things a girl can scheme up every week so now and again a gentle push in the right direction is much appreciated. First and foremost, anyone who is coat hunting now has broken one of the cardinal rules of shopping: never, EVER wait until you actually need something before you buy it. Bikinis should be purchased in March, possibly May at the absolute latest. We’ve all grappled with the swimwear sale rails in July at least once in our lifetime and I’m sure you’ll agree, it ain’t pretty. As for your parkas, peacoats and puffas, they should really be purchased sometime in August. But given what appalling weather we have most of the time, it’s understandable that us Brits don’t want to think about coats during the 2 to 4 months of the year we don’t have to wear them. Luckily for us, designers know this, so despite the fact it’s November there are still plenty of wonderful Winter warmers up for grabs and without further ado, here are a few of my favourites…

LPA Loves Tech-sessories

LPA Loves tech-sessories

There are no two ways about it, I’m a slave to apple. Not so long ago I was a committed – or so I thought – PC and blackberry user. Two years, five fashion weeks and four iPhones 4s’s later, I’m completely and utterly hooked. On the frequent occasions my iPhones get ‘stolen’ (read: left in a loo after one too many cocktails) I spend the 3 to 5 working days it takes to get a replacement wandering around like a lost puppy, unaccustomed to being unable to recieve emails every second of the day, or navigate my way from A to B without the option of following that handy little blue dot. Even when my iPhone and indeed, iPad are safe and sound in my handbag, I still struggle to be away from my laptop for more than a couple of hours. Ok, so maybe I’m an extreme (-ly sad) example but be honest, could you imagine life without a smartphone?! I can imagine the answer is a resounding ‘no’ or if not then frankly, I suspect you’re lying. This leads me to the point of this post: tech-sessories.
