Mulberry Hosts Coachella Festival Firepit Party

When the news of this particular fash bash arrived in my inbox, my initial response was one of confusion. British heritage brand, Mulberry, hosting the wildest party at a legendary LA music festival, seriously? After reading a few lines on all that was cloudy became crystal clear and any remaining confusion was replaced by extreme jealousy. After all, this sounds like it might just have been THE event of the century… Or at least the year so far. After a day spent sunning themselves at Coachella festival (lucky for some) a handpicked selection of guests were picked up in Mulberry’s monster-themed coach and transported to the ultra swanky Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. From there they made their way into a private garden which had also had a monster makeover, in homage to the brand’s AW12 collection. So far, so fabulous but the evening was about to get that bit better as Kasabian took to the stage for a midnight acoustic set.

Mulberry has a reputation for attracting an A-list following (did you see their FROW this season?) and Friday night’s guest list was certainly no different. Kate Bosworth, Lily Collins and Azealia Banks were all in attendance and Brit beauties Cara Delevigne and Tali Lennox flew 10 hours to be there.

So as you now see, my major case of envy was pretty well founded especially seeing as (according to my sources) those lucky so-and-so’s all went home with their own little Mulberry…

La Petite Party Diaries… Burberry Brit Store Launch

Part two of last Thursday night’s fashion party extravaganza took me to the heart of Covent Garden where I had been invited along to celebrate the launch of the new & improved Burberry Brit store. Now any soiree thrown by Burberry was going to attract some pretty high profile guests and I was beyond thrilled to be included amongst the hoards of famous fashion faces parading their stylish selves through the state-of-the-art store.

I arrived at the store to be greeted with freshly poured champagne and the sound of thumping music. Despite my being only an un-fashionable half-hour late, the place was packed. One thing I have always loved about Burberry is the classic, fresh faced loveliness of their models and sure enough all former and current faces of the brand had turned out in force to indulge in an evening of drinking, dancing and multiple photo opp’s.The Burberry Brit launch party was doubtlessly one of the hottest tickets in town with international fashion royalty including Juliana Restoin-Roitfeld in attendance. As far as the eye could see, the enormous and unbelievably stylish store was teeming with beautiful people and industry insiders dressed in Burberry’s new season finest and ready to let their hair down.

All in all, it was a thoroughly British affair with miniscule versions of classic English dishes being served by a bevvy of rather gorgeous waiters. Homegrown beauties and Burberry models Poppy and Cara Delevigne, Lily Donaldson, Edie Campbell and Tali Lennox mingled with stylish singer Ellie Goulding and the man-of-the-moment himself, Christopher Bailey. We were treated to a breathtaking performance by British acoustic band, “Life in Film” and as darkness fell model/DJ Tom Guinness took to the decks and really got us in the party mood.

After getting over the the initial self-consciousness caused by wearing bright pink to an event where everyone else seemed to have gone for effortless understatement, I knocked back multiple glasses of champagne, caught up with familiar faces and generally enjoyed the evening. As we Brits say, a bloody good time was had by all and despite my stiletto induced agony I could happily have continued until the wee hours. Luckily enough this was not an option as whilst Thursday may be THE fashionable night to party, this sadly doesn’t excuse most of us from work the next day.

Tommy Hilfiger Prepworld Pop-Up Boutique Launch Party

Yesterday evening Covent Garden played host to some of the most stylish shoppers around as London’s fashion elite turned out in force to celebrate the launch of the Tommy Hilfiger Prepworld Pop-Up Boutique.

This season Tommy has teamed up with Lisa Birnbach author of The Preppy Handbook to take his signature style on a world tour. Over the past six months the fabulous Prepworld Pop-Up has, ahem, popped up in fashionable cities all over the world before finally arriving in London.

As a long-term lover of all things preppy I was thrilled to snag an invite to this hot ticket event and couldn’t wait to get a sneak peek at the iconic American brand’s latest sartorial treats. Apparently I wasn’t the only one as Ed Westwick, Jameela Jamil, Tali Lennox, Alex Zane and Leah Weller were just a few of the famous fashion faces with whom I spent the evening sipping champagne at the adorable Hampton’s Beach House style store.

The preptastic garments certainly didn’t disappoint and I instantly vowed to return in the sober light of day and splash out on chinos and polo’s galore. Despite the gorgeous clothes it was hard not to be distracted by the obscenely beautiful, plaid clad male models handing out dainty delicacies not to mention the presence of international heart throb, David Gandy.

After munching on East Coast Country Club style canapés, sipping custom made cocktails and dancing to the preppy-inspired tunes of Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, I finally staggered off across the Covent Garden cobblestones happy in the knowlege that preppy is back with a vengeance.
